It's that time of year again...

Sat Nov 28, 2009, 4:56 PM
Wow! I haven't updated in forever. Sorry about that, but life's been pretty busy for me since Halloween. No time to even work on art or cosplay, and barely any spare time for the internet. I'm now in the final stretch of the semester and I'm just hoping I do well enough on finals to stay in school (being on academic probation sucks). I should be ok, but I can't bomb my finals either. I'll be spending most of my time from now until Dec 10 either working or cramming for finals, so I probably won't update again until after that.

Finally! Progress!!

Mon Oct 26, 2009, 1:42 PM
I finally feel like I'm making some head way in my to do list. I finally finished my cousins' costumes today; I'll post pics once I get them out of my mom's camera. I'm pretty much caught up with all of my subjects except Biology, which I plan to put in some extra study hours for that subject this week.

Also, I got my new contacts in last week. They feel so weird too, but I'm starting to get used to them. I wanted to get contacts so I could start getting colored and specialty contacts for some of my more elaborate cosplays. My first pair will be yellow cat-eyes for Goku's demon form. I'm so lucky that my eye doc is so nice and that my mom's insurance covers the "training" and follow-up appointments.

Halloween seems pretty uneventful once again this year; no plans. I'll probably just cosplay as Rukia and hand out candy to the neighborhood kids.

There's something creepy in the air...

So I decorated the front porch today after getting some pumpkins from the French Market. I just love Halloween, mostly because it's just another excuse to cosplay. Leah got me back on Facebook the other day after nearly scaring me to death with worry. So yeah...

I think I've decided to cosplay England from Hetalia, not that I won't cosplay China at some point; I've noticed most Hetalia cosplayers like to do more than one character. I figure I can use the same wig I plan to use when I cosplay Wolfram from Kyo Kara Maoh, which will probably be sometime in 2011. I happened to buy the wig I'll need for both cosplays the other day when I decided to swing by my local costume shop. In my defense, it was the perfect wig and was only $20.

And to all those interested in joining Leah and I in our Artist Alley table(s) at AWA 16, please contact me if you plan on committing to this. You will need to have a sample of what you'd like to sell prepared by Jan 2010. I'll be contacting those we've talked to already about this, but if we haven't asked you and you're interested please let me know.

Sigh, Sir- AWA con report

Wed Sep 23, 2009, 8:35 AM
My apologies for waiting until now to get this post up, but I've been so exhausted, I've barely had enough energy to get through work and school, sir. I had a blast at AWA this year, though the rain and missing all but one of my photo shoots was a bit of a let down, sir. I did make the TTGL shoot on Saturday, which was fun, especially since I liked how my Gimmy cosplay came out, sir. My dress for Kallen was well complimented Friday night, yet I only got a few pictures taken in it, sir. My fellow CG cosplayers there were a complete let down, so I don't think I'll be cosplaying from that series again, sir.

Also, on a side note, on the recommendation of several people, I've started watching Hetalia, sir, and I'm currently torn between cosplaying either England or China from that series. I need to start on my cousins' Halloween costumes this weekend, sir.

AWA prep

Sun Sep 13, 2009, 4:42 PM
So it's only a matter of days until I head up to Atlanta. I just finished packing. I can't believe it's so close now. I really just have to keep up with my homework for now, so I'm not too bogged down when I get back. I have one more math assignment that I'll finish on Wed, along with my weekly Japanese quiz. I also need to finish reading Confederacy of Dunces for my NO Lit class, which I just started on this morning.

I managed to find some plastic utensils left over from a previous con which I'll bring for the room, along with the bread and peanut butter.

Well, that's it, time to get back to my book before bed.
