Well, it is once again New Year's Eve, and much like last year, I find myself at my aunt and uncle's beach front condo in Destin. Jess and I are here once again for Anime South. But as we say good bye to '08 and hello to '09, I can't help but think...

...just how bad this year has been. I mean, my dog died, I got in a reck and had to cancel my plans for Metrocon, I've had to deal with family drama on almost a daily basis, and don't even get me started on the current reck our country is in, thanks to a certain inept redneck.

But driving to Destin yesterday afternoon, I realized '08 has also been a year of new things: a new car, a new computer, a new sister(in-law) (well, soon to be, at least), and a new phone (which I only got yesterday, btw, if you haven't sent me your number yet, please do so).

So what are my big New Year's plans? Well, I just plan to hang out here at the condo, watching random fireworks from the deck and waiting up for Leah and Keith to get here sometime between 1 and 3am.
