First off, I am feeling a lot better in regards to my current situation. Thank you to everyone for your support and kind words, they definitely helped. At first when I put in a request for more hours at work, it didn't look like I'd get it, but not even a week later, we lost one of our teches, so now I'm just under full time. It works out great because it gives me just enough free time to clean and work on costumes.
I went shopping for health insurance and managed to find a policy that would cover my Rx's and still be affordable. Getting more hours at work really helped too.
I went out to my dad's house this past weekend and I had Jess watch the rest of Ouran. The best part was when we got to the episode where Chika is introduced and even before he realizes who he is, Jess shouts out, "I wanna cosplay him!" So now I have to make an Ouran middle school jacket so he can cosplay Honey-senpai's little bro. We sat down and listed a few other characters he wants to do. His next 2 will probably be Chika as well as Uryu from Bleach.
Speaking of cosplay plans, I've been getting my own cosplay and con plans in order. My current projects include Ririn from Bleach, Sailor V from Sailor Moon, Suki from Avatar: the Last Airbender, and Goku from Saiyuki. I will definitely be at Momocon in March as well as LouisiAnime in Baton Rouge in May. Anyone who would be willing to make the trip to BR is welcome to join me in my room share. I'll also definitely be at AWA in Sept. Metrocon is still a maybe, I should have a better idea by Spring.
However, after speaking with my family and giving it a lot of thought, I decided that Jess and I will not be attending Anime South 5. The weekend before Christmas is a difficult weekend for me to be going out of town. Dec is already a very stressful month for me without adding the "joys" of con prep to the mix. Even my mom, who is usually very supportive of my anime habbits, was expressing her dislike of that weekend for a con. And Jess, who is usually gun-hoe for rushing off to a con, was against it. In addition to this reasoning, a few of my good friends have already come out in saying they won't be able to attend. Now of course, AS isn't really a con known for having huge attendance, major events, or tons of famous guests, but people go because of the people, especially those of us who have been going since the beginning. I just know that it won't be the same without some of my friends.

LouisiAnime? Never heard of it, i'll pass it on to Misa to see what she thinks. Maybe we can squeeze in a May con since we're not going to Metro.
BTW, what ever happened to UzumeCon?
What service provider did you end up using?

I was looking at Humana, personally. I have them for dental. Right now, though, my employment comes with Blue Cross/Blue Shield. They probably hate me right now, what with all the surgical consultations and lumbar puncture testings.
